INDEPENDENT SOFTWARE & AUTOMATION CONSULTING

Practical software and automation for real business problems.

Practical software and automation for real business problems.

MW Applied helps businesses eliminate repetitive work, connect disconnected systems, and improve operational workflows using software, automation, integrations, and AI. The focus is practical improvements that can reduce costs, support revenue growth, and strengthen the bottom line.

Solve the workflow, not just the symptom.

Most businesses don’t need another piece of software. They need the systems they already use to work better together, and less manual work between them.

I look for repetitive, time-consuming, or error-prone workflows and determine whether software, automation, integration, or AI can make them simpler and more reliable. I prioritize changes with a clear business purpose, such as lowering operating costs, freeing up capacity, or helping revenue opportunities move forward.

Workflow Automation

Automate repetitive business processes, handoffs, notifications, follow-up, data entry, and administrative work.

Software Integration

Connect existing systems through APIs and integrations so information moves where it needs to go without unnecessary manual work.

AI-Assisted Processes

Apply AI where it creates practical value, including document processing, classification, extraction, summarization, and workflow assistance.

Custom Software

When off-the-shelf tools are not enough, design lightweight custom software around the actual business process.

CURRENT FOCUS

Helping MSPs reopen opportunities that went quiet.

Managed service providers invest significant time and money getting prospective clients through discovery, IT assessments, and proposals. Some of those opportunities don’t say no; they simply go quiet because of timing, budget, contracts, or competing priorities.

MW Applied helps MSPs systematically revisit those stalled opportunities and identify the companies that are ready to have another conversation. It’s a way to pursue potential revenue from relationships you’ve already invested in, rather than relying only on new leads.

30-Day Stalled Opportunity Recovery Pilot

For one agreed segment of previously qualified opportunities, I help review the list, exclude active or inappropriate contacts, prepare an approved follow-up approach, run the outreach process, and hand interested prospects back to your sales team.

1. Identify

Select previously qualified opportunities that are no longer being actively worked.

2. Prepare

Review the records, exclusions, messaging, sender identity, and contact approach.

3. Reconnect

Reach out with simple, appropriate follow-up designed to determine whether the need still exists.

4. Hand Off

Interested prospects go directly back to the MSP’s sales team for the sales conversation.

The goal is not to replace your CRM, generate a new lead list, or guarantee closed sales. The goal is to identify existing opportunities that may be worth reopening.

ABOUT

Hi, I’m Mark.

I’m Mark Wong, founder of MW Applied.

I’m a senior software engineer with more than 10 years of experience building and maintaining production software across industries including fintech, construction, education technology, and SaaS.

I started MW Applied because I wanted to work directly with businesses on practical problems where software and automation can remove friction, reduce repetitive work, and make existing processes more reliable. The aim is to turn those improvements into business value: lower costs, more capacity for valuable work, and better support for revenue growth.

My approach is simple: understand the process first, choose the simplest technology that solves the problem, and build something that holds up in the real world.

You work directly with me, from understanding the problem through designing and implementing the solution.

Why trust me?

There’s a big difference between building an automation that works in a demo and building one that can be trusted in production.

My background is in production software engineering. I’ve spent years designing systems that have to keep working when the data is messy, traffic increases, APIs fail, jobs are retried, and unexpected edge cases appear.

That means I think about things like:

  • reliable retry and failure handling

  • idempotency and duplicate protection

  • monitoring, logging, and alerts

  • distributed workloads and scaling

  • data validation and cleanup

  • large and batched data ingestion

  • recoverability when something goes wrong

  • maintainable architecture rather than quick fixes

AI makes it easier than ever to build something that appears to work. My goal is to build automation you can actually depend on after the demo is over.

Start with the problem.

1. Understand

We look at the current workflow, where time is being lost, what systems are involved, and what result actually matters.

2. Apply

I determine whether the right answer is automation, integration, AI, custom software, or simply improving the existing process.

3. Measure

We define what success looks like and determine whether the change is actually producing useful results. Where relevant, that includes operating costs, capacity, revenue opportunities, and whether the benefit justifies the cost of implementation and ongoing maintenance.

I prefer small, contained projects that prove value before committing to larger implementations.

Built for businesses with real operational work to improve.

MW Applied is a good fit for organizations that have valuable employees spending too much time on repetitive work, moving information between systems, manually following up, processing documents, or working around gaps in existing software.
